Wet weather check for members

In wet weather, check with Baulkham Hills council to see if our grounds at Eric Mobbs have been closed.

Looking for other clubs, classes or trainers?

Are our classes not at the right time or place? Or not what you and your dog are looking for? Training our dogs is so rewarding and so important, we want you to keep looking. APDT Australia offers some advice on choosing a trainer.

Here are some other places to try:

Agility Dog Association of Australia (ADAA) Clubs

ADAC Agility of NSW

North American Dog Agility Council (NADAC) Australian Division

Dogs NSW
Paws 4 Fun is a Dogs NSW affiliated club.

Delta Society Australia
The Delta Society web site lists Delta Canine Good Citizen accredited instructors. Some of these instructors work through clubs, others hold private group or individual lessons. Some are associated with Vet practices.  The Delta web site also lists veterinary behaviourists, who can assess and assist with serious canine behaviour problems.

Association of Pet Dog Trainers Australia - Trainers Directory
"The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) Australia is a forum for trainers and anyone involved with dogs to communicate and exchange ideas regarding training, business needs, management problems and thoughts encountered in dog training". The trainers directory lists APDT members who offer training services through private practice and clubs. All listed APDT members have agreed to abide by the voluntary code of ethics.

Puppy classes

Paws 4 Fun does not take puppies in class until they are 16 weeks or older. Prior to 16 weeks we recommend you take your puppy to "puppy class".

Puppy classes are also listed on  the Accredited Instructors page of the Delta Society Australia web site and on the APDT Australia Trainers Directory.

Call or visit your local veterinary practices. Some provide puppy classes on their premises.

Choosing a puppy class: If you have not yet got your puppy, or have a few weeks to go before attending a puppy class, do ask if you may watch part of a puppy class in action. This will give you an opportunity to see how the class is run, inspect the premises and prepare you better for your own puppy in class. All puppy classes are not equally good, so here are some criteria to bear in mind, as suggested by APDT UK.
